Radon Testing

We can radon test your home or business in Licking and all surrounding counties in the state of Ohio.

*Radon tests are normally done in areas suitable for occupancy. For example, a split-level house/building with a basement, a slab-on-grade room and a room over crawlspace will have tests placed in each of the three foundation types areas, using the guidelines below.

Radon Testing Information

  • Tests should be set in rooms that are regularly occupied, such as family rooms, living rooms, playrooms, bedrooms and basements.
  • Tests should not be set in areas of high humidity, such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, or spa rooms.
  • Radon tests should be undisturbed during the testing period.
  • Radon tests should be at least 3 feet from doors, windows to the outside or ventilation ducts.
  • Radon tests should be out of the direct flow of air from the ventilation duct.
  • Radon tests should be at least 1 foot from exterior walls.
  • Radon gas tests should be 20 inches to 6 feet from the floor.
  • Radon tests will be at least 4 inches away from other objects horizontally or vertically above the test.
  • All radon tests should be placed at least 4 feet from heat, fireplaces and furnaces.
  • Tests should be out of direct sunlight to test for radon.
  • Radon tests should be at least 10 feet from unsealed sump pits.
